@samim: It puzzles me that all popular work management strategies (Agile, Scrum, Cynefin, etc.) don't include even basic insights/habits from mindfulness studies. Why?
@snowden: What ‘insights’ do you think are neglected?
@samim: active state management (meditation) and multimodal rituals (qi-gong) help to operationalise group serendipity in information-rich and attention-poor environments.
Haragei (腹芸): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haragei #Mindful
A Japanese concept of interpersonal communication. Literally translated, the term means "stomach art", and it refers to an exchange of thoughts and feelings that is implied in conversation. It is a form of rhetoric intended to express real intention and true meaning through implication. Takie Lebra identified four dimensions of Japanese silence - truthfulness, social discretion, embarrassment and defiance. Information is communicated through timing, facial expression and emotional context, rather than through direct speech. Haragei also functions as a method of leadership, replacing direct orders to subordinates with subtle, non-verbal signals. In martial arts, haragei refers to those arts which supposedly enable the practitioner to sense threats or anticipate an opponent's movements.
It is a bit embarrassing to have been concerned with the human problem all one's life and find at the end that one has no more to offer by way of advice than 'try to be a little kinder.' - Aldous Huxley
