Jade Cong (琮)
This is a Jade Cong (琮) from the Neolithic Liangzhu Culture (c. 3300–2200 BCE) in China. It is a perfect circular tube nested inside a square, hand-carved out of rock-hard nephrite before metal tools existed.
We find them stacked in wealthy tombs, covered in tiny, haunting "monster masks," yet we still don't know exactly what they were used for.
