The unbounded cult of measurability is suffocating humanity and nature. The very notion that we can only value and take serious that which we can "fully understand" (science & engineering culture) is delusional.
"Dangerous exponentials - A radical take on the future - our core thesis" - by Dr.Tim Morgan:
https://www.tullettprebon.com/documents/strategyinsights/tp0510_tpsi_report_005_lr.pdf
A fascinating read. Good to see some calling the problem by its name, while many (predominantly US based) lunatic thinkers still scream "exponentials are great, singularity!"

The World’s First 3D-Printed Village Is Coming to Latin America This Summer:
https://www.dwell.com/article/3d-printed-village-yves-behar-icon-new-story-c56ded54
This US company is developing a giant 3D printer, cool. Then they sell their tech by talking about a utopian, emotional vision of "the developing world can have little houses just like the US ones" and announce their pilot project, a 3d printed village in South America (why not in the US, not enough homeless? Why little houses? Urban trends go in a really different direction). Good example of the extrem stupidity and arrogance that the US (automation) industry is displaying left and right.
The electricity and water have been cut, so that means...the Venezuelan embassy in DC is now 100% carbon neutral! #Politics #ClimateChange
Cyborg Botany: Augmented plants as sensors, displays, and actuators:

I'm really not a fan of this. Much could be said why, but in essence it lacks very basic respect for plants & nature.

"Global Information Society Watch. 2018 - Community Networks" - by @APC_News: https://www.giswatch.org/community-networks https://giswatch.org/sites/default/files/giswatch18_web_0.pdf 43 country reports selected based on definition: “communication networks built, owned, operated and used by citizens in a participatory and open manner.”
Today, nearly 60 percent of kids get to school by car, almost four times as many as in the late 1960s, when just 16 percent of children did so. https://www.citylab.com/life/2019/05/high-school-commute-drive-sleep-exercise-children-teens/588850/
And any amount of "electric self driving AI cars etc." won't change this inhumane absurdity. Seems people like @elonmusk have not gotten the memo yet.

Innovation: Taking Risks or Making Risks?
https://medium.com/@foam/innovation-taking-risks-or-making-risks-3a9d13b1401a
Imagine a future in which startup culture has become obsolete as way of creating value. Where the ideals and infrastructure of Silicon Valley are considered old fashioned and embarrasingly silly. What alternative approaches to innovation have developed?
