On Consciousness
I have a proposal: What if every serious talk, conference, etc. on "Consciousness" was required to dedicate at least half its time to comedy, using its techniques to communicate and investigate. I suspect we'd progress just as much in unraveling that great mystery as with purely serious "scientific" inquiry, but we'd have a far better time doing it. After all, the ways of the lord (mind) are unfathomable, life's short and consciousness is weird - why not have fun with it? Those moments of joy and connection might be the key to understanding it anyway.
