Wi-Fi for neurons: first map of wireless nerve signals unveiled in worms - Studies find a densely connected network of neurons that communicate over long distances, rather than across synapses.

23andMe says it’s looking into another possible data leak - The hacker, who goes by “Golem,” is the same one that stole 1 million lines of genetic data from 23andMe earlier this month.
#Comment: Calling this any term other than "hack" is more fitting, such as honeypot, sabotage, intelligence setup, military bio-warfare operation - or simply a grandiose act of sheer stupidity.

Prediction: By 2035, the majority of therapeutics will be administered to patients electronically instead of pharmacologically. Most strikingly, the potent effects of psychedelic drugs will be replicated in software that is wirelessly transmitted to the body.

Macaque monkeys and humans sample temporal regularities in the acoustic environment
“The perception, if not the enjoyment, of musical cadences and of rhythm is probably common to all animals and no doubt depends on the common physiological nature of their nervous system” – Charles Darwin

A tomato plant is dramatically more sophisticated than any AI system:
- It can self-replicate & evolve
- It perfectly fits into the ecosystem
- It looks, smells & tastes fantastic
There are more than 10,000 varieties of Solanum lycopersicum grown and consumed around the world. Gardeners through the centuries have developed tomatoes for their own use, selecting for preferred size, taste, texture and adapted to their own microclimates.

Induction of a torpor-like hypothermic and hypometabolic state in rodents by ultrasound (Nature)
We achieve a long-lasting (>24 h) torpor-like state in mice via closed-loop feedback control of ultrasound stimulation with automated detection of body temperature.

Does science actually deliver what is promises?
If the ultimate "claim to fame" and "right to exist" of western science over the past 200 years has been "it improves human life", wouldn't the vast majority of it be attributed to engineering innovations in sewage, sanitation and healthcare (primarily improving birth outcomes)?

"The Quantitative Comparison Between the Neuronal Network and the Cosmic Web"
"Our analysis showed that the distribution of the fluctuation within the cerebellum neural-net follows the same progression of the distribution of matter in the cosmic web"
