In technology design a primary challenge now is how to shift from the dominate model of automation & augmentation (more! better! faster! growth! etc. - focused on artefacts) to cultivation (permanence, wisdom, appropriate tech, open source, commons, etc. - focused on life)
If the narrative of AI, Robotics & Automation is essentially just "more growth" (our current modus operandi), it will dangerously accelerate the wholesale destruction of life on earth - and thus calling such tech "intelligent" is oxymoronic - "cancerous" more accurate.

Lengthy essay by ecologist and philosopher David Abram titled "Magic and the Machine":
https://emergencemagazine.org/story/magic-and-the-machine/
"PERHAPS IT IS EASIER to understand, now, why we’re so enthralled by our digital technologies, such that once we’re online and synapsed to the screen, it’s remarkably difficult to tear ourselves away. For all these technologies awaken something primordial in us, a biophilic proclivity layered deep in our genome, a penchant for animate interchange with bodies whose shapes are very different from our own. The renewal of that age-old animistic sense of a world all alive, awake, and aware brings an upwelling of wonder, or at least an anticipation of a wondrous possibility waiting just around the corner. And so we remain transfixed by these tools, searching in and through our digital engagements for an encounter they seem to promise yet never really provide: the consummate encounter with otherness, with radical alterity, with styles of sensibility and intelligence that thoroughly exceed the limits of our own sentience. Yet there’s the paradox: for the more we engage these remarkable tools, the less available we are for any actual contact outside the purely human estate. In truth, the more we participate with these astonishing technologies, the more we seal ourselves into an exclusively human cocoon, and the more our animal senses—themselves co-evolved with the winds, the waters, and the many-voiced terrain—are blunted, rendering us ever more blind, ever more deaf, ever more impervious to the more-than-human Earth."

I really want to have a github-like service, dedicated exclusively to ecological/regenerative open-source projects. If that sounds interesting to you, lets talk.
Maybe if we complementary to trying to ban certain technologies (atomic bomb, cyber-weapons, energy weapons, neuro-engineering, autonomous weapons, geo-engineering, etc.), made deals to strategically decelerate technological development and application, we would see more harmony coming to the exponentials wrecking havoc on the ecosystems.

This is why even a wiki would not be the complete answer. Wikis may be peer-to-peer, but they are still media, rather than the real thing. In terms of media platforms, some kind of Yellow Pages or Craig’s List, that connects people who need to know, with people who can help them, is the more promising way to go. Such a person-to-person connection machine would be even more powerful if it were to incorporate user ratings of the knowledge suppliers involved.
Gardens as Crypto-Water-Computers: https://pruned.blogspot.com/2012/01/gardens-as-crypto-water-computers.html
Built in 1936, this machine was “the world's first computer for solving differential equations,” which “for half a century has been the only means of calculations of a wide range of problems in mathematical physics.” Absolutely its most amazing aspect is that solving such complex equations meant playing around with a series of interconnected, water-filled glass tubes. You “calculated” with plumbing.
Garden historians usually characterize the technical control of water in stately gardens as part of a system of social control. As an alternative, or at least to offer another layer of meaning, this augmented timeline presents a crypto-historical narrative of gardens as gigantic water computers.

Chances are that the legacy energy companies (which substantially contributed to the climate change collapse we are facing) will become dominate leaders in the "clean energy" sector (driven by acquisitions which they fund with the dirty oil business) A backwards and dangerous development, as company culture never really change.
