The Application of Cognitive Science in Military Science - A Narrative Review - by Khodabakhsh Ahmadi, Nasirudin Javidi (Journal of Military Medicine January 2020)
Science that have contributed to the birth of cognitive science Abstract: The current review aims to explore the applications of cognitive science in military science to answer the question of what cognitive science is currently used in the military. Cognitive science is an interdisciplinary and scientific study of the mind and its processes that examines the structure, process, and cognitive functioning of the mind. The main subcategories of cognitive science are cognitive modeling, cognitive psychology, cognitive neuroscience, cognitive linguistics, philosophy of mind and artificial intelligence.
The applications of cognitive science in the military field are examined at two levels: first, at the level of human resources, and second, at the level of military equipment. At the level of human resources, increasing the energy efficiency of the soldiers' bodies and increasing the hours of continuous activity, increasing the speed of repairing war injuries, increased wakefulness, reduced fear and pain sensation in the nervous system, control of mind and behavior, night vision technology, the full integration of technology with the nervous system, the bolt project (eliminating the limitations Language differences), developing DNA diagnosis system, humanoid robots, hunter robots, transfer robots, Peteman Human Beatles, Nanobut Robots, Body Refactoring Project and Artificial Eye Project.
The use of cognitive sciences in the field of military equipment includes: cognitive weapons, auxiliary skeleton, health trackers, cyber-insects, Exacto project, Heldes project, Earth project, Alpha-Doug project, one-Shot project, Z-Man project, Vulture project Stratospheric airship, UFP project and bird robot in Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (Darpa).Cognitive science plays a crucial role in the development of military science and technology, both in the field of manpower and in the field ofmilitary equipment. Therefore, more research is needed on how to expand this science. We hope to see more growth and prosperity in the Armed Forces.

In a recent study, scientists conducted an experiment that measured how alpha waves interacted with a trace mineral that they believe registers magnetism.

"Can humans sense the Earth's magnetic field?" - the spooks at WHO said in 2008:
"Based on a recent in-depth review of the scientific literature, the WHO concluded that current evidence does not confirm the existence of any health consequences from exposure to low-level electromagnetic fields," it says. "However, some gaps in knowledge about biological effects exist and need further research."

Some reported hearing incapacitating sounds in the embassy and in their hotel rooms. The reports range from clicking to grinding, humming, or even blaring sounds. One staffer described being awoken to a horrifically loud sound, only to have it disappear as soon as he moved away from his bed. When he got back into bed, the mysterious sound came back. So what’s going on? Bizarre accidents? Cloak and dagger gone awry? Mass hysteria among the US state department, or something else entirely?

Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP)
An electromagnetic pulse (EMP), also sometimes called a transient electromagnetic disturbance, is a short burst of electromagnetic energy. Such a pulse's origin may be a natural occurrence or man-made and can occur as a radiated, electric, or magnetic field or a conducted electric current, depending on the source. EMP interference is generally disruptive or damaging to electronic equipment, and at higher energy levels a powerful EMP event such as a lightning strike can damage physical objects such as buildings and aircraft structures. The management of EMP effects is an important branch of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) engineering. Weapons have been developed to deliver the damaging effects of high-energy EMP.

ICNIRP Issues Revised RF Guidelines - First Update Since 1998 (microwavenews)
The International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) has issued updated guidelines for exposures to RF/microwave radiation. “The guidelines have been developed after a thorough review of all relevant scientific literature, scientific workshops and an extensive public consultation process. They provide protection against all scientifically substantiated adverse health effects due to EMF exposure in the 100 kHz to 300 GHz range,” according to Eric van Rongen, the chairman of ICNIRP. “We know parts of the community are concerned about the safety of 5G and we hope the updated guidelines will help put people at ease,” he said. Van Rongen is with the Health Council of the Netherlands. The new guidelines are published in Health Physics and are open access. A copy is available here. They were last updated in 1998. Study Finds More Younger American Adults are Being Diagnosed With Alzheimer's (ibx.com)
The 5 years between 2013 and 2017 saw a 200% increase in the number of commercially-insured Americans diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease or early-onset dementia between the ages of 30 to 64. "While the underlying cause is not clear, advances in technology are certainly allowing for earlier and more definitive diagnosis," says the Blue Cross.

Synthetic Telepathy: The Microwave Auditory Effect
The microwave auditory effect, also known as the Frey effect, consists of the human perception of audible clicks, or even speech, induced by pulsed or modulated radio frequencies. The communications are generated directly inside the human head without the need of any receiving electronic device. The effect was first reported by persons working in the vicinity of radar transponders during World War II. In 1961, the American neuroscientist Allan H. Frey studied this phenomenon and was the first to publish information its nature.

In his experiments, the subjects were discovered to be able to hear appropriately pulsed microwave radiation, from a distance of a few inches to hundreds of feet from the transmitter. In Frey's tests, a repetition rate of 50 Hz was used, with pulse width between 10–70 microseconds. According to Frey, the induced sounds were described as "a buzz, clicking, hiss, or knocking, depending on several transmitter parameters, i.e., pulse width and pulse-repetition rate.

"In 1975, an article by neuropsychologist Don Justesen discussing radiation effects on human perceptions referred to an experiment by Joseph C. Sharp and Mark Grove at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research during which Sharp and Grove reportedly were able to recognize nine out of ten words transmitted by "voice modulated microwaves". Since the radiation levels approached the (then current) 10 mW/cm² limit of safe exposure, critics have observed that under such conditions brain damage from thermal effects of high power microwave radiation would occur, and there was 'no conclusive evidence for MAE at lower energy densities'".
