Conspiracy Theory (wikispooks)
"Conspiracy theory" is a pejorative applied to ideas which challenge an official narrative; people interested in them are termed "conspiracy theorists". This usage stems from the US deep state's efforts to promote the "lone nut" theory of the JFK assassination. The concept was later developed into a general purpose enemy image used to try to prevent the connection of deep events that the commercially-controlled media presented as isolated incidents. Post 9/11, it is the subject of pseudo-scientific study to limit freedom of speech by promoting the idea that the holders of such opinions are inclined to violence and deserve to have their civil liberties removed, in particular by subjecting them to internet censorship.

Aum Shinrikyo: The intersection of Cult, Bio-Terror, PSI and Madness
"Asahara recruited scientists more actively than he did any other group. His enthousiasm about science undoubtedly was connected with his lust for murderous weapons. But the guru also wished to consider himself a scientist and once declared, "A religion which cannot be scientifically proven is fake." He was especially interested in brainwaves and claimed that by studying them Aum could establish a scientific basis for the stages of spiritual attainment described by past Buddhist saints. With the help of Hideo Murai, his chief scientist, Aum introduced the use of a headset that purportedly contained the guru's brainwaves, which it transmitted to the disciple in a procedure known as the "perfect salvation initiation" (or PSI). The PSI, much revered in Aum, was meant to bring about the desired "cloning" of the guru by means of technology and science. There was also a strong element of science fiction in the PSI and other Aum projects, much of it actively fed by television. What took shape in Aum was a blending of science, occultism, and science fiction, with little distinction between the fictional and the actual." (via)

DADAISM in Japan!
Dada (ダダ) are a humanoid alien race that attacked Earth and started abducting humans to advance some form of research. A character from the Japanese TV show "Utraman".
Jun Tsuji (辻 潤) (1884 - 1944) was a Japanese writer, translator, theater actor, musician, monk and philosopher of anarchism, egoism, nihilism, Dada and Buddhism. There is a book about him - by Erana Jae Taylor, a collection of poems (PDF) and more poems.
Shinkichi Takahash (wiki) (1901 - 1987), Japanese poet and pioneer of Dadaism in Japan. According to Makoto Ueda, he is also the only major Zen poet of modern Japanese literature.
The Art Of Nothingness: Dada, Taoism, And Zen - by Erin Megan Lochmann (2011) (PDF)
Abstract: When examining the art, actions, and writings of Zurich Dadaists it becomes apparent that there is an affinity with Eastern thought, namely Taoism and Zen Buddhism. It cannot be said that Eastern thought directly influenced the artistic production of these Dadaists. However, the philosophy of Dada artists in Zurich mirrors that of Taoism and Zen so strongly that this connection cannot be ignored.
Was Japanese Dada Even Tougher Than Its European Versions? - by Blake Gopnik (2016)
"Today’s Pic illuminates an arm of the international Dada movement about which I was totally ignorant – its Japanese arm. I’m showing the cover of a 1924 issue of the Japanese Dada journal called Mavo, edited by Tatsuo Okada and the Berlin-trained Tomoyoshi Murayama. Mavo originally came with a firecracker attached to its cover: How many museums or libraries would want that detail “read” outloud in their halls?"
MAVO was a radical Japanese art movement of the 1920s. The group used an interdisciplinary array of art, to communicate anti-establishment messages. Fueled by responses to industrial development, the MAVO group created works about crisis, peril and uncertainty. (wikipedia)

Celine's Laws - by Hagbard Celine (via)
1. National Security is the chief cause of national insecurity.
2. Accurate communication is possible only in a non-punishing situation. (related, via)
3. An honest politician is a national calamity.
Related, from an interview with Robert Anton Wilson:
"Communication is possible only between equals. That’s the SNAFU Principle. I also call it Wilson’s Law. I hope that eventually it will get incorporated into sociology books. I really believe it. This came to me when I was working for Playboy, and realized that everything that was wrong with Playboy was due to the hierarchy there. I’d like to say that I predicted the decline and fall of the Hefner Empire, but I didn’t. I could see that communication was all screwed up because of the hierarchy, and then I thought of every other corporation I ever worked for, and armies and governments, and I realized that this is the situation in the authoritarian family, too. This is what women’s liberation is all about. Another big influence on the SNAFU Principle was Faulkner’s Go Down, Moses. There’s a great sentence in there that goes roughly, „To the sheriff, Lucas was just another nigger and both the sheriff and Lucas knew it; but only one of them knew that to Lucas the sheriff was a redneck without any reason for pride in his forbears nor hope for it in his descendents.“ And that’s what hierarchy does: it creates a situation where the person on the top doesn’t know what the person on the bottom thinks."

A General Semantics Anecdote:
One day, Alfred Korzybski was giving a lecture to a group of students, and he interrupted the lesson suddenly in order to retrieve a packet of biscuits, wrapped in white paper, from his briefcase. He muttered that he just had to eat something, and he asked the students on the seats in the front row if they would also like a biscuit.
A few students took a biscuit. “Nice biscuit, don’t you think,” said Korzybski, while he took a second one. The students were chewing vigorously. Then he tore the white paper from the biscuits, in order to reveal the original packaging.
On it was a big picture of a dog’s head and the words “Dog Cookies.” The students looked at the package, and were shocked. Two of them wanted to vomit, put their hands in front of their mouths, and ran out of the lecture hall to the toilet. “You see,” Korzybski remarked, “I have just demonstrated that people don’t just eat food, but also words, and that the taste of the former is often outdone by the taste of the latter.” (via)
"The map is not the territory, the world is not the thing it describes. Whenever the map is confused with the territory, a 'semantic disturbance is set up in the organism. The disturbance continues until the limitation of the map is recognized." - A.Korzybski
"General semantics is a philosophy that deals with how people react to things that happen around them based on meaning. It was created by Alfred Korzybski during the 1920s. The goal of general semantics is for people to know that when we simplify something, either mentally or in language, that simplification is not the same thing as the thing simplified. How people understand reality is not the same as what reality is because people do not know everything about reality. General semantics teaches that there is always more to something than what is seen, heard, felt, or believed." (via)

Brian Taylor to Adapt Robert Anton Wilson & Robert Shea’s Illuminatus! as TV Show
The classic, genius, post-modern sci-fi satire, the Illuminatus! trilogy is slated to become a TV series. Given Hivemind's association with Amazon Prime & Netflix, one of these outlets is a likely bet. I have very mixed feelings about this, wait and see. In the meantime: Hail Eris! and..

"Ritual is to the inner sciences what experiment is to the outer sciences.” - Tim Leary
A Zen Master was once asked, "What is Zen?" “Attention,” he replied. "Is that all?" asked the inquirer. "Attention,” the Zen Master repeated. "Won't you say anything else?" persisted the questioner. “Attention,” said the Master, one more time.

I Understand Philip K. Dick - by Terence Mckenna (via)
"Phil wasn’t nuts. Phil was a vortex victim.* Schizophrenia is not a psychological disorder peculiar to human beings. Schizophrenia is not a disease at all but rather a localized traveling discontinuity of the space time matrix itself. It is like a travelling whirl-wind of radical understanding that haunts time. It haunts time in the same way that Alfred North Whitehead said that the color dove grey 'haunts time like a ghost.'"
"Anyhow the man was a SF writer and a scholar of classical philosophy, he could not be expected to stay in touch with arcane discoveries beginning to take place on the frontiers of research mathematics. But he got very close, his intuition was red hot when he reached the conclusion that a unified abstract structure lay behind the shifting always tricky casuistry of appearances. The concept he needed was that of fractals and fractal mathematics. The infinite regress of form built out of forms of itself built out of forms of itself * unto infinity. The principle of self similarity. Phil was right, time is not a linear river. He was right, the Empire never ended. Parallel universes is too simple a concept to encompass what is really going on. The megamacrocosmos is a system of resonances, of levels, of endlessly adumbrated fun-house reflections. PKD really was Thomas and Elijah and all the other precursive concrescences that came together to make the cat-loving fat man who compacted trash into gold. The logic of being that he sought, and largely found, was not an either-or logic but a both-and and and-and kind of logic."
"What’s got to be gotten over is the false idea that hallucination is a private matter."
