The Extension of Mayayana Buddhism in Asia
‘Spring has the feeling of spring, and autumn has the look of autumn; there is no escaping it. So when you want spring or autumn to be different from what it is, notice that it can only be as it is. Or, when you want to keep spring or autumn as it is, reflect that it has no unchanging nature.’ - Shobogenzo Yuibutsu Yobutsu
Teaching without words
The softest things of the world
Override the hardest things of the world
That which has no substance
Enters into that which has no openings
From this I know the benefits of non-attached actions
The teaching without words
The benefits of actions without attachment
Are rarely matched in the world
- Tao Te Ching, Chapter 43, Derek Lin translation
DNA and mRNA vaccines involve the introduction of foreign and engineered genetic material into a person’s cells and past studies have found that such vaccines ‘possess significant unpredictability and a number of inherent harmful potential hazards’ and that ‘there is inadequate knowledge to define either the probability of unintended events or the consequences of genetic modifications.’”
Bye Bye GDP. you won't be missed: Chinese President Xi Jinping sets sights on ‘affluent society’ goal as Covid-19 comes under control (SCMP)
Communist Party chief has been on the road to promote the message that time is ripe to get the economy back up and running, as deadline on first ‘centenary goal’ looms. He also encouraged them to speed up the diversification of the local economy to reduce dependence on traditional industries like coal and energy. Xi also appeared to be signalling that the “affluent society” target could be redefined using measurements other than just gross domestic product, he said. “So it’s possible for him to declare that the objective has been achieved by citing progress in areas like environment or technology.”

Norway’s $1tn oil fund has sold out of some of the biggest names in commodities and utilities including Glencore, Anglo American and RWE after the world’s largest sovereign wealth fund decided they breached its guidelines on the use of coal. Exclusions by one of the world’s biggest shareholders — the fund owns on average almost 1.5 per cent of every listed company in the world — are often closely followed by other investors.
In the short term, coal still supplies around a quarter of the world's primary energy and two-fifths of its electricity. However, the well-regarded fund’s decision is expected to have a more gradual effect on investor sentiment in the long-term.
'Pulling investments from the oil sands and claiming it's for climate change reasons is more about publicity than fact' — Cenovus Energy CEO
The holy grail of energy storage has always been low-cost and long-duration. Form Energy intends on deploying a 1 MW/150 MWh system with a Minnesota utility before 2023, an unprecedented energy storage duration if successful. The Breakthrough Energy Ventures net-zero fund chaired by Bill Gates is among the funders behind Form Energy.

#Comment: A fun chat about mereology (the study of parts and the wholes they form.). They ignore that all assumptions about a fundamental "upper ontology" rely on reality being finite, with a orderly flow of time/information/causality/etc. In an infinite reality where everything exists (including nothing), there is no fundamental upper ontology to be discovered.
Code Review of Ferguson’s Model - Review of the software the UK Covid plan was based on.
Conclusions. All papers based on this code should be retracted immediately. Imperial’s modelling efforts should be reset with a new team that isn’t under Professor Ferguson, and which has a commitment to replicable results with published code from day one. On a personal level, I’d go further and suggest that all academic epidemiology be defunded.
