After spending 10+ years in machine learning, the most astonishing thing for me is still how easily people can take any outdated idea that's doable with out any ML, slap an 'AI' label on it, and fool so many smart people into thinking it's futuristic & revolutionary.

It's incredible that cars and trucks in Japan make about half the noise than the one's in Europe. Everything is much quieter. That this is technically possible at scale but EU car makers don't implement it is totally insane.

FearML
Many years ago the agencies trained a multimodal machine learning model on a massive private dataset, which with high accuracy could predict fear: who is fearful of what & how much, how to make them more fearful with which messages on what channel, etc. It was/is a great success
Once the had perfected AI generated audio/visual media all those years ago, they combined it with their massive media distribution net & digital twin simulation of global society to fuel a game-theoretic, self-optimizing divide & conquer social engineering machine.

How Do Psychedelics Reduce Fear of Death?
"The best available evidence suggests that when psychedelic experiences reduce existential angst and restore a sense of meaning in life, they do so primarily by persuading people of the falsity of a broadly naturalistic worldview" - perhaps because it is false?

Comedy is a very fine art full of deep nuance. One of the reasons why for over 10 years I've been proposing that Computational Comedy is a far more effective benchmark than things like the Turing Test. GPT4 & co are not even close generating anything originally funny.
