Senjoukaku is a shrine building in Hiroshima Prefecture. Construction halted suddenly in 1598, since the building consists of a single floor space, 1419m². The floor is 4" thick boards of camphor tree, never polished never repaired, worn to a mirror smoothness over the centuries.

Madain Salih is an impressive rock building complex and the oldest architectural monument in Saudi Arabia, which is around 2000 years old. Towers, residential buildings and 111 monumental tombs are carved into the rocks found in the middle of the desert.

The nine storied stone tower at Setok Gutok monastery in Tibet. Built single handedly by one monk, Milarepa (1028-1111), as a ritual act to cleanse himself of bad karma. Stone, lime plaster, timber. The tower still stands.
