Open-source fundamentally changes the dynamics of competition: In the closed-source world, competitor relationships are defined by intense fighting & secrecy. In open-source, competitors can be far more collaborative and transparent, escaping zero-sum game traps.

Companies in the Generative AI space that do not have a well-planed strategy for creating a "clean dataset" free of copyright issues, are short-sighted. Investing in a best-effort approach now can unlock significant opportunities down the line.

#Comment: That late capitalism succeeded in turning psychedelics in yet another consumer business driven by advertising & "thought leaders" is truly a comedy master piece.

Prediction: At the end of 2023 we'll see major corporations launch generative media products/properties, marking the end of the "Artisanal AI Art" phase & beginning of the "Industrial generative AI media" phase. Many traditional & AI artists will be upset.
