What are the effects of Generative Media on Human Psychology?
I want to read a study on the effects of prolonged exposure to ML generated images. Interested in questions such:
- Do people start to question the "realness" of non-generated images?
- Do generated images show up in people's dreams?
- Does the perceived value of images change?
- etc. etc.

Great interfaces help people grow their skills and not become addicted
People learning about Art history by engaging with ML generative media system is amazing! Opportunity: Great interfaces/UX help users grow & level-up innate skills while using augmentation software - acting like "scaffolding" that minimizes addictions / dependencies over time.

Generative Attention Poverty
When Herbert Simon in 1969 wrote about how "a wealth of information creates a poverty of attention" he foresaw our times. With ML systems starting to pump trillions of generated artifacts into our media ecosystem, what do you think will happen to attention?

Synthetic Media Politics
How far advanced do you think the secretive generative systems of the intelligence agencies (and other mafia orgs) are into the future? 2y? 6y? 15y? What are its capabilities and goals? Keep that in mind when ever you see or read anything on any screen 🤡

Don't let your life & dreams, your awareness & intention, be moved even a bit by the omnipresent projections of immanent doom & gloom made by the army of 'experts'. Forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing - and forgive yourself, for there are no others. Simply deeply relax & be still to realize that that this lifetime is short & precious. Watch your thoughts, words, actions & habits - as they become your reality. If your mind isn't clouded by unnecessary things, this is the best season of your life.

What are kids watching? - Analysis of the Anime "Toaru Majutsu no Index" - by Mark Valin
"Kinda crazy there’s a cartoon out there about an Academy of Gifted kids at war w/ secret societies. Accurate depictions of ceremonial magic & grimoires. Weather modeling satellites, Reality Distortion Fields. The Book of the Law, Aiwass, Aleister. "
"An English Church of Necessary Evil, Queen ‘Elizard’. A war in Russia, more floating fortresses, psychic vortices... probably nothing 🥴"
More on the Setting of Toaru Majutsu no here.

The gist of the message broadcasted on most channels these days is very similar: Harder, louder, faster, scarier, weirder, richer, smarter, exacter & more more more. Given this hyped up environment, doing the exact opposite is a revolutionary act: Striving to be softer, quieter, slower, and generally doing less.

Generative Media Industry Crash
The value of pixels and any other media artifact that can be computationally generated (basically all of them) is rapidly falling to close to zero marginal cost. The primary results will be: 1) More people will engage in creative expression - but dramatically less than the developer of creativity augmentation systems like to believe. 2) Tens of millions of people in creative industries will be out of a job permanently and forced to learn alternative skills. Get ready, the time is short. (I wrote these Related, Related, Related pieces on the topic many years ago, that are still somewhat relevant)

Perspective is key, in a world where machine learning is rapidly driving the value of pixels to 0

That which is technically feasible and cheap to do, will be done...
...thus it is logical to assume that a significant portion of all media delivered via screens today (video, image, audio, text) is fully generated by machines, using weaponized secretive "deep fakes" systems with capabilities that are 10+ years beyond the current public imagination. Further, given how ubiquitous and cheap total surveillance has become, it is logical to assume such systems are on a trajectory to becoming "closed loop" and semi-autonomous, to be able to generate and deliver custom versions of "reality" for targeted audiences at scale, that continuously evolve based on individuals measured reactions to "behavioral micro-nudging" delivered through generated media. "The Show Must Go On" or "Unplug & Visit Nature", which is it for you?

"It's all bullshit, folks and it's bad for ya” ― George Carlin
Open almost any current media or communications channel for longer than 5 minutes in 2022 and one thing becomes abundantly clear: It's all bullshit, folks and it's bad for ya. Like being stuck in a terrible video game with brain-dead NPC's malfunctioning left and right. Any yet, one has to be very thankful for this situation as it painfully forces one to seek out the few pockets of sanity that are left. Good night.
