Relax
While at Umbrella corp, contributed to projects at the intersection of ML, biometrics & mental health. Not much else to say, except i recommend you regularly meditate - cause "it" knows all to well when you are stressed and how to make you more stressed.

Wireheading?
Practitioners in the A.I, machine learning, generative modeling/art, human augmentation and related domains should be very clear about this: Significant parts of these communities - implicitly or explicitly - are racing towards implementing and perfecting Wireheading and Mind-control, in its many expressions. Let's stop to beat about the bush and openly discuss the socio-spiritual-technical design decisions and implications of such systems, which in the shadows have advanced far further than most choose to believe. Most importantly, let's meditate so we can choose the path forward in a conscious and relaxed way.

Implicit drivers of most AI/Robotics future visions told by tech leaders are such immature desires:

Speak Like a Dog: Human to Non-human creature Voice Conversion
This paper proposes a new voice conversion (VC) task from human speech to dog-like speech while preserving linguistic information as an example of human to non-human creature voice conversion (H2NH-VC) tasks.

AI rivals average human competitive coder?
A journalist asked me to comment on the story "DeepMind AI rivals average human competitive coder". My comments ended up in the CNBC story "Machines are getting better at writing their own code. But human-level is ‘light years away’". Here are my comments in full length:
Every good computer programmer knows, that it is essentially impossible to create "perfect code" and that all programs are flawed and will eventually fail in unforeseeable ways, due to Hacks, Bugs or Complexity. Hence, computer programming in most critical contexts is fundamentally about building "fail safe" systems that are "accountable". In a 1979 presentation, IBM made the statement: "A computer can never be held accountable. Therefore a computer must never make a management decision". Besides all the recent hype around "AI Coder outperforming humans", the question of the accountability of code remains largely ignored. Has anything changed since IBM made that statement? Do we really want hyper-complex, in-transparent, non-introspectable, so called "autonomous" systems that are essentially incomprehensibly to most and unaccountable to all, to run our critical infrastructure, such as the finance system, food supply chain, Nuclear power plants, weapon systems or space ships?

Scientists propose putting nanobots in our bodies to create ‘global superbrain’
An international team of scientists led by members of UC Berkeley and the US Institute for Molecular Manufacturing predicts that exponential progress in nanotechnology, nanomedicine, artificial intelligence (AI) and computation will lead this century to the development of a human ‘brain-cloud interface’ (B-CI). Writing in Frontiers in Neuroscience, the team said that a B-CI would connect neurons and synapses in the brain to vast cloud computing networks in real time.

My next chapter begins..
After four years, my time at Dr.Strange Love's insane asylum has come to an end. While I did meet many genuinely nice and interesting people, I've never seen so many highly educated useful idiots, one sided apparatchiks and evil geniuses in one place. The scale of ambition and operations is truly dizzying. But equally the levels of secrecy, confusion, arrogance and lust for control and power are mind boggling. In summary, it is a madhouse. I did learn a great deal for which i am very thankful, especially by studying the shadows of the invisible. Most notably, I've learned that education has little to-do with true intelligence, and intelligence has even less to-do with getting the essentials right. The heart is the true mystery, not the brain - a fact that Dr.StrA.Inge Love will likely never comprehend. All that said, i want to sincerely thank all the kind souls I've met along this wild and fascinating journey. May our practice and life be of benefit to all beings everywhere.
