A Case Study in National Shame - Dimitri Orlov on Afghanistan, the Pashtuns, decentralized governance and effective imperial resilience
Among the world’s many ungoverned spaces, there are few as long lasting and as able to withstand the relentless onslaught of empires as the Pashtun tribal areas, which straddle the porous and largely notional border between Afghanistan and Pakistan, including the Pakistani tribal area of Waziristan. To invaders, this is an invisible yet impregnable fortress that has withstood all attempts by centralized government authorities to impose their will. The term “ungoverned” is, as usual, misapplied here: the Pashtuns have an alternative system of governance whose rules preclude the establishment of any centralized authority. At over forty million strong, they are one of the largest ethnic groups on the planet. Their ability to resist the British, the Pakistanis, the Soviets and now the Americans/NATO makes them one of the greatest anti-imperialist success stories on our planet. What makes up the shell of such an uncrackable nut? This is an interesting question, which is why I have decided to include an exposition on the Pashtuns, the toughest nut in the whole tribal nutsack.

“In August 1959, ['Cees'] Van den Heuvel set up a foundation for research into human ecology based in the Hague. The title is indicative, if not conclusive: in 1955, the CIA had founded a Society for the Study of Human Ecology which changed name in 1961 to become the Human Ecology Fund. Both American organizations were funding conduits for the CIA's MK-ULTRA programme of research into mind control and brainwashing. Van den Heuvel's human ecology foundation would soon change titles to the Oost-West Stichting (East-West Foundation), which received funding from the BVD. According to an Italian secret service (SIFAR) report dated October 1963, the BVD funded a meeting in Barbizon near Paris on 5th - 8th October 1961 where "the participants decided to unite all efforts and initiatives of the struggle against Communism within a new organization and place these on a serious and expert footing."

#Comment: And then you wonder why countries on US’s "hit list" (more than half the world?) see the internet as a weapon of empire. At this pace, the "western" internet will be superseded by a different system shortly, and the US internet giants will rapidly loose power.

120 years later: same agenda, same people.
This years G7 event in Cornwall was all around a "wholesome" affair. Here is a picture of one of the attendees - Stanley Johnson (Father of Boris Johnson) participating in a peculiar ritual with the fine people of "Extinction Rebellion" (presumably a UK intelligence agency psyops). Just as refresher, Papa Johnson is a life-long die-hard Malthusian and the author of "life-affirming" books such as "Virus" (1982), "The Population problem" (1973) & "Life without Birth" (1970).
When asked in a 2011 interview what the ideal population amount for the UK is, he replied "oh Britain, i put it at 10 or 15million, i think that would be absolutely fine". This perspective on population is most likely shared by his clown son (the current UK PM) and the elitist "leadership" around him.
Ultimately, these people, institutions and ideas are all tethering on irrelevance and its very likely more productive to focus elsewhere - but its still fun to comment on the growing insanity of it all...
